1. Who we are

teqniq is a trading name of Neo-Geo Global Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 13865588. We are a recruitment agency and employment business based in London, supplying temporary, contract and permanent staff across the United Kingdom and into the European Union.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number ZB583583. If you have any question about how we handle your information, contact us:

2. Who this notice is for

This notice covers everyone whose personal data we handle:

  • Work seekers — anyone who applies for a role, sends us a CV, or registers with us.
  • Client contacts — people we deal with at the organisations we supply staff to.
  • Website visitors — anyone using teqniq.co.uk.
  • Referees and emergency contacts — people whose details a work seeker gives us.

3. The information we collect

From work seekers: name and contact details; your CV and work history; qualifications, licences and professional registrations; right-to-work documents; references; details of the roles and locations you are interested in; pay and availability; and, where a role requires it, criminal records disclosures (DBS) and other clearances.

From client contacts: name, job title, employer, and business contact details.

From website visitors: anything you type into a form on our site, plus technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots.

We collect most of this from you directly. We may also receive it from job boards you have applied through, from referees you have named, and from publicly available professional sources.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To find you work, and to find our clients staff. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — running a recruitment business — and, where we are placing you, taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
  • To carry out the checks a role requires, including right to work, references, qualifications and, where applicable, DBS. Lawful basis: legal obligation, and legitimate interests in placing suitable and properly vetted people.
  • To pay you and meet our tax, payroll and employment obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation and performance of a contract.
  • To send you relevant roles. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep records of what we did and why, including for audit and to defend legal claims. Lawful basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.

Some of the information we handle is special category data — for example health information relevant to workplace adjustments, or criminal records data for roles that require a DBS check. Where we process it, we do so because it is necessary for employment purposes, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and we apply additional safeguards.

5. Who we share it with

  • Our clients — the organisations we put you forward to. We tell you before we submit you to a client.
  • Vendor-managed service and neutral-vendor platforms, where a client engages us through one.
  • Umbrella companies, payroll bureaux and accountants, where relevant to how you are paid.
  • Background screening and DBS providers, where a role requires it.
  • Our IT and hosting suppliers, who process data on our instructions.
  • HMRC, regulators and other authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Sending information outside the UK

We supply staff into the European Union, so your information may be transferred outside the UK where that is necessary to place you or to administer an assignment. Where it is, we make sure the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Where we have not placed you, we keep your details for two years from our last meaningful contact with you, so that we can consider you for future roles, and we delete them after that. Where we have placed you, records relating to the assignment are kept for longer where employment, tax and audit law requires it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see section 8.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be told how your data is used; get a copy of it; have inaccurate data corrected; have data erased; restrict or object to how we use it; ask for it in a portable format; and withdraw consent where we relied on it. You will not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has a significant effect on you — our placement decisions are made by people.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@teqniq.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, and asks your permission before setting any that are not. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site, or through your browser.

10. How we protect your information

We are certified under Cyber Essentials, the UK government-backed scheme administered by IASME, and we are a member of TEAM (The Employment Agents Movement). Access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to do their job.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at admin@teqniq.co.uk so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
