Job Description:
We are currently seeking to recruit a CCAB part qualified/qualified Lead Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to carry out a significant influencing and reporting corporate role which will involve the following: 1. Supporting local management to ensure that appropriate financial controls are implemented and lead specific compliance activity as required 2. Assisting with the annual Statement of Accounts process 3. Dealing with the Collection Fund for Council Tax and Business Rates 4. Working with the Council’s Financial Controller to identify and make improvements to existing processes and systems for the collection and reporting of financial information for the Council 5. Responsibility for the various statutory government returns (RO, RA, WGA,CTB1, NNDR etc) 6. Delivering the day to day requirements associated with the Devon Business Rates Pool 7. Experience with grants administration and/or compliance 8. Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis or performance of accounting research as required to support key management decisions Good financial system skills
